Basketball once again

As the buzz quiets down for Texas football, there will be a new fever that comes to town, Basketball. As the lockout persists and the future for a 2011-2012 season looks bleak, we basketball lovers will turn to college basketball. Some teams are poised to make it to March Madness. There is always Duke, North Carolina, and Kansas, but the surprise this year, maybe Texas. Though Texas seems to have a good program, ranking to the top five at least at one point of the season, and has always getting the brackets of March Madness Frenzies, they have failed to achieve one thing over the past years, get to the Sweet 16, and ultimately, the Final Four.

This year they might be able to. Though they lost three of five starters last year, including their top scorer Jordan Hamilton (18.6 points per game), their all-star forward (7.8 rebounds per game), and point guard Cory Joseph. This poses problems for the Texas, causing it to have an inexperienced team for the upcoming season. But this won't stop Texas, from winning games. Texas recruited many star players including All-American Myck Kabongo, one of the most talented point guards in the country. That along with Texas coach Rick Barnes’s smart decisions during the game, the Horns could make the Sweet 16, and possibly, the Final Four.

Expect the Frank Erwin Center to be filled with wins this season.
