McCoy, Ash, Gilbert

These three names have been synonymous with the Texas Longhorns football team. These three quarterbacks are are competing with each other for the starting QB job at Texas. All three are different ages. Gilbert is a junior, McCoy is a sophomore, and Ash is a freshmen. Texas fans are torn between who should be the starting QB of the Longhorns.

Gilbert was the starting QB for the Longhorns last year. He led them to a disappointing season. The Longhorns finished with a loosing record. The Longhorns finished with a 5-7 record. Last season was the first loosing season for the Longhorns since 1997. Gilbert started the first game of the season, and he performed pretty well. In the second game against BYU, Gilbert struggled in the first half. Gilbert then got benched, in favor of Case McCoy.

McCoy came in the game and did a good job. Along with David Ash, who comes occasionally for McCoy. These two quarterbacks led the Longhorns to a victory against BYU.

This led to people wondering who was going to be the starting QB for the Longhorns against UCLA. That question was answered before the opening kickoff. Case McCoy got the starting job. McCoy was able to lead the Longhorns to a easy victory and most people have accepted him as the starting QB against the Longhorns.
