Descriptive
Think of a sports league in which every team has a chance to win. A league in which surprises happen every game. This is the type of league that people want to watch. Now think about the English Premier League. Four teams have been dominating for a better part of the century. The Premier League in England, and Wales is a perfect example of how an uncapped system ruins sports. The top four teams in the league all have the most money. This shows that in the English Premier League money can win you games. Entering every season fans expect only the “Big Four” to win. No other team really has a chance, because they don’t have as much revenue as Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United. This is a perfect example in which an uncapped leagues ruin sports.
Contrast and Compare/Question
Aaron Rodgers lead his Packers to the championship last year. Dirk Nowitzki lead his Mavericks to victory last year. Wayne Rooney lead his team to the championship. What is the difference? Wayne Rooney has won his leagues championship five times in the past six years. Rodgers and Nowitzki are both first time winners. Another difference is that both the NFL and NBA are capped leagues, while the EPL is an uncapped league.
Twist
People say that uncapped leagues are good for the sport because they allow for teams who are committed to winning, and willing to spend their money to do so. I don’t agree.
So i liked the descripive one the best. This is just because it flows and sounds good. True, i've never heard of the EPL, but it makes me want to read more about it.
ReplyDeleteNice sports allusions in the Compare and Contrast. It really portrays the difference between good players. You might want to elaborate more on Wayne Rooney.

I like the compare and contrast, it really highlights the issue, but I think it's also kind of a twist
ReplyDeleteI like the compare and contrast it shows the issue and the how the players have gone to victories or lead the team.
ReplyDeletei like your 2nd lead the best because it does a great job of helping your target audience (Americans). It s goo that you compare American superstars to Wayne Rooney because they are very iconic
