Arthur Rhodes, a bullpen reliever is about to play in his first World Series. Rhodes is going to win a championship ring regardless if the Cardinal win or loose, because he played for both the Rangers and the Cardinals this season. Rhodes is only the eighth player to be put in this situation before in baseball history. The only others players who have played for both teams who have made the world series in the same season were Bengie Molina in 2010, Chris Ray in 2009, Jim Bruske in 1998, Lonnie Smith in 1985, Sid Monge in 1984, Johnny Schmitz in 1952 and Jack Kramer in 1951.
This season he began on the roster of the Texas Rangers. He stayed with the Rangers until he was cut on August 8th. Three days latter the Cardinal pick him up, and put him on their team. He has made 32 appearances with the Rangers, and 24 appearances with the Cardinals. He has also made 5 playoff appearances.
When asked if he would acept the ring if the Rangers won he answered, "Yeah, you gotta take the ring, man."
